Prayer Meeting
Every Wednesday, 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM
We are a Christian church that believes in speaking the truth in love. The source of truth is the Bible. We worship the God of the Bible, who is the only God there is. We have a congregational polity which means that church members make the major decisions affecting the church.
You do not have to be a member to come to any of our services or meetings. We encourage all people who are sincerely seeking Jesus or are considering the claims of Christ, to come, experience and enjoy. Ask questions. We are here to help you.
No one will ask you to speak publicly or do anything that a person would find embarrassing. Our desire is for you to feel safe and comfortable as you listen and worship.
We were created to worship God. To worship the God of the universe and to speak to Him through prayer is not boring at all, it is awesome. All our teaching consists of God’s truth from His word which can be applied in the everyday circumstances of our lives.
We sing a blend of traditional Christian hymns and contemporary worship songs. We do not intend to have our music so loud and showy that your attention is diverted from worshipping God or singing His truth. An emotional response to the truth of God is what happens rather than mere entertainment.
We think you will find here a group of friendly, down to earth people of different ages and walks of life who have a genuine desire to seek God together and help each other. Frankly, self-righteousness and judgmentalism is sickening and not what Jesus has in mind for us.
We celebrate Communion or The Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month. You do not have to be a member of our church to participate but The Lord’s Supper is designed by the Lord for true Christians. The Lord’s Supper is an outward physical symbol of an inner spiritual reality. Our pastor can explain and discuss its significance with you so you understand and will appreciate the deep spiritual experience that it is.
We baptize adults and children by immersion in water who have come to faith in Jesus Christ and desire to follow the Lord’s command. Baptism is an outward physical symbol of an inner spiritual reality. Our pastor will explain and discuss its significance with you, so you understand and will appreciate the deep spiritual experience that it is.
We do not baptize babies but instead have a ceremony called baby dedication, where the parents dedicate themselves to raising their children as the Lord would have them do so.
We can recommend a number of various books to read in which you can learn from and have your questions answered. We have a church library where you can buy or borrow books.
After the first session, we ask for a modest sliding-scale donation to our church. This is primarily for you. Why? What we receive too cheaply we esteem too lightly.
